Message from the Chief of Police

John Gann Profile PicWelcome to the Texas A&M University-Texarkana Police Department web site.  Thank you for taking the time to visit. Hopefully, you'll find some useful and interesting information.

The A&M-Texarkana Police Department is committed to providing excellent police services to all members of the campus community.  In order to do that we're providing well trained, State certified police officers whose main goal is to protect, serve and educate the population of A&M-Texarkana.

The University Police Department will do everything in its power to enhance the quality of life on campus in order to make it a safe place to live, learn and enjoy campus life.   The Police Department can't do this alone however.  In order to maintain a safe campus environment for everyone, it requires the commitment of every student, staff and faculty member.  We cannot do our job effectively without the help and support of the campus community.

I think you'll see by comparing A&M-Texarkana to other universities that we have one of the lowest crime rates of any four-year residential university in the State.  We have a small but dedicated staff of officers.

After you browse our site, please feel free to contact any of my listed staff and offer suggestions, concerns, or comments.  If you need to speak to me personally about something, you can reach my office by dialing 903-223-3114.  Remember, UPD is here to serve you and is available 24 hours a day.

Sincerely,

John Gann
