Upon successful completion of the course, the student will have:

1. The ability to define a management problem.

2. The ability to organize a plan for addressing a management problem.

3. The ability to successfully execute the plan and manage a project.

4. The ability to prepare a formal project report.

5. The ability to make an effective oral presentation of the report to the business client.
TYPE OF INSTRUCTION:

Each student will be assigned as a member of a project team which will accept the responsibility of performing a business consulting project with a participating business client. Instruction in this course will consist of individualized assistance by the professor as needed by the various project teams in solving problems encountered on their projects.  It is essential that deadlines established for completion of specific steps be met by the project teams.  The members of each team are responsible for coordinating their own schedules for working on their project.  Each team, with all members present, will meet with professor for project progress conferences according to the schedule below.

Required drafts and reports will be submitted to the professor via e-mail MS-Word attachment.

EVALUATION AND GRADE DETERMINATION:

Grades will be based on demonstrated competence in areas identified above according to the schedule of specified deadlines.  Penalties will be significant if deadlines are not met.  Grades of individual project team members will not necessarily be the same; individual contributions to the project will be observed and grades will be awarded accordingly.

Student performance will be evaluated by notation of attendance to required project team meetings, peer and client reports on individual project contributions, the quality of the written project report to the client and observation of the quality of the oral exit report to the project client.
