Origins of the Texas Secession Assignment

Based on the Texas declaration of secession, Dr. Perri asserts that slavery and how it was linked to perceptions of the “southern way of life” was the major cause of Texas secession and Texas fighting on the side of the Confederacy in the Civil War.
