- All computer software under the control of and used by
Texas A&M University-Texarkana must be appropriately licensed. The
licensing agreement will be maintained in the department in which the software is
utilized. Unit supervisors are responsible for implementing procedures to ensure that all
software utilized in their unit is appropriately licensed
- Software that is licensed for use on Texas A&M
University-Texarkana servers, in student computer labs, and any other software accessible
to all university personnel will be maintained by the Office of Technology and Distance
Education.
- No computer software may be installed on a Texas A&M
University-Texarkana computer or copied from a university computer by any Texas A&M
University-Texarkana employee unless the licensing agreement specifically approves such a
procedure and such use has been approved by the person holding the appropriate license.
- Significant penalties are levied for noncompliance with
copyright laws concerning computer software, both criminal (fines up to $25,000) and civil
(fines up to $100,000). These penalties can be applied to both the department and/or the
employee. The university may also impose disciplinary measures.
