The BAAS is an alternative, undergraduate degree program that can smooth the adult's re-entry into college and accelerate degree completion. Having been in existence for over 15 years, this degree continues to be one of the most popular undergraduate degree programs among working adult learners because it adresses the needs of the adult students. The program awards academic credit for experiential learning acquired through career and accepts virtually all previous college credit, correspondence credit, military course credit, credit from occupational/vocational schools, and courses approved by the American Council on Education (ACE). In addition, college credit may also be obtained for formal training received in business, industry, or the community.

The major of this program, Applied Arts and Sciences, consists of previous coursework, credit for experiential learning, and an interdisciplinary component of upper division courses. This allows students flexibilty in selecting junior/senior level courses that complement their unique career goals or personal interests.
