Information Technology Co-op (Texarkana, AR)
Description Assists IT System Administrators and IT Technicians in designing, testing, implementing, maintaining, monitoring and coordinating Cooper’s IT infrastructure to improve service, quality, and reliability. Assists with the installation and maintenance of all user interface devices such as personal computers, terminals, data collection equipment, wireless devices, printers, etc. Must repair, replace, or adjust all devices that are reported inoperative in such a way as to keep user downtime to a minimum. Has a working knowledge of network and computer operations procedures. Assists with the routine administration of computer and network operations as necessary to provide a stable and secure environment. Works with the client to identify and resolve hardware and software issues utilizing troubleshooting skills and documented procedures and practices. Performs basic system support functions and communicates with advanced support personnel when necessary. Documents client incidences and reassigns incidences to other support staff personnel as required in a timely manner. Maintains helpdesk documentation and documents new processes as technology changes. Shares the documentation with appropriate personnel. Assists with day-to-day duties as well as special projects assigned by IT Manager or IT System Administrators. Keeps abreast of emerging and existing technologies and makes recommendations to acquire such technology to the benefit of the company. Assists with preventive maintenance on all equipment. Must regularly perform maintenance according to published schedule guidelines. Updates schedule as necessary to stay current with equipment changes.
Position Requirements Must have good written and oral communication skills to be able to communicate effectively with clients and support personnel located in any area or location of the company. Must have sound troubleshooting skills needed to resolve client hardware and software problems. Occasionally involved in presentations and providing training for personnel. Must be able to work in a team environment. Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, Windows operating systems and PC hardware is required. Willingness to work at other facilities would be a plus.
Educational Requirements Must be actively pursuing an associate’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field. GPA of 3.0 (4.0 scale) or better (consideration given to lower GPAs depending on experiences).

Requirements
Degree in computer sciences or related area preferred; A+, Cisco or Microsoft certifications or 2 years of equivalent experience.
Support users and maintain workstations in a Windows Active Directory Local and Wide Area Network environment. Maintain Microsoft Exchange, SQL and file/print servers; Cisco routers, switches and firewalls.
Must have excellent verbal and written skills. Salary dependent upon experience. Vacation, Sick Leave and Profit Sharing provided.
