Members present:     Peter Racheotes Chair; Elaine Beason, Joan Brumm, Teri Fowler and Tom Gandy

1.         Agenda

2.         Meeting called to order at 1:32 PM by Dr. Racheotes. 

3.         Dr. Brumm moved, seconded by Dr. Gandy to approve minutes from previous meeting December 10, 2008.  Motion passed.

4.         Dr. Brumm moved, seconded by Dr. Beason to approve Course Inventory Deletion:  MIS 301 Microcomputer Applications in Business, MIS 345 Management of Telecommunications, MIS 470 Object-Oriented Programming I and MIS 472 Local Area Network Management (Boger).  Motion passed.

5.         Dr. Beason moved, seconded by Dr. Brumm to approve Course Inventory Deletion:  MGT 440 International Business (Boger).  Motion passed.  This action avoids future cross-listing with GBUS 440 International Business.

6.         Dr. Beason moved, seconded by Dr. Brumm to approve Course Changes: GBUS 440 International Business (Boger).  Motion was made to delete the cross-listing with

MGT 440 International Business and to update the course description to reflect this change.  Motion passed.

7.         Dr. Brumm moved, seconded by Dr. Gandy to approve Changes to Existing Undergraduate Program:  BBA – Accounting (Boger).  Motion was made to add MGT 366 Topics in Organizational Leadership, FIN 325 Money, Banking, and Financial Markets and MGT 446 Entrepreneurship to the major requirements and to delete 9 SCH Upper Division Business Electives.  Motion passed.

8.         Dr. Brumm moved, seconded by Dr. Gandy to approve Adding New Undergraduate Program:  BBA Business Administration with Concentration in Finance (Boger).  Motion passed.

9.         Dr. Brumm moved, seconded by Dr. Gandy to approve Adding New Undergraduate Program:  BBA Business Administration with Concentration in Management (Boger).  Motion passed.

10.       Dr. Brumm moved, seconded by Dr. Gandy to approve Adding New Undergraduate Program:  BBA Business Administration with Concentration in Management Information Systems (Boger).  Motion passed.

11.       Dr. Brumm moved, seconded by Dr. Gandy to approve Adding New Undergraduate Program:  BBA Business Administration with Concentration in Marketing (Boger) Motion passed.

12.       Dr. Brumm moved, seconded by Dr. Fowler to table Adding New Undergraduate Program:  BBA Business Administration with Concentration in General Business (Boger).  Motion Tabled.

13.       Dr. Brumm moved, seconded by Dr. Gandy to approve Course Inventory Add/Reinstate: MGT 366 Topics in Organizational Leadership (Boger).  Motion was made to add MGT 366 Topics in Organizational Leadership to the course inventory.  The prerequisite should read:  Students must have sophomore standing and completion of MGT 395.  Motion passed.

14.       Dr. Beason moved, seconded by Dr. Fowler to approve Course Changes:  SPED 410 Introduction to Individuals with Exceptionalities (Harris). Motion was made to change the course description and course objectives.  Motion passed.

15.       Dr. Beason moved, seconded by Dr. Fowler to approve Course Changes:  SPED 415 Teaching Students with Moderate to Severe Disabilities (Harris).  Motion was made to change the course description and course objectives.  Motion passed.

16.       Dr. Gandy moved, seconded by Dr. Brumm to approve Changes to Existing Undergraduate Program:  Political Science Minor (Bugh).  Motion was made to change the requirements for the minor.  The change involves replacing the current specified 12 sch of UD Political Science courses with “12 SCH UD Political Science electives”.  Motion passed.

17.       Dr. Beason moved, seconded by Dr. Brumm to approve Course Changes:  PSCI 410 American Political Theory (Bugh).  Motion was to delete existing prerequisites for PSCI 410.  Motion passed.

18.       Dr. Beason moved, seconded by Dr. Brumm to approve Course Changes:  PSCI 464 Congress (Bugh).  Motion was to delete existing prerequisites for PSCI 464.  Motion passed.

19.       Dr. Beason moved, seconded by Dr. Brumm to approve Course Changes: PSCI 465 The Executive (Bugh).  Motion was to delete existing prerequisites for PSCI 465.  Motion passed.

20.       Dr. Gandy moved, seconded by Dr. Brumm to approve Changes to Existing Undergraduate Program:  Major: History, Major History: 8-12 teaching field, Major History: Social Studies 8-12 teaching field (Wagy).  Motion was made to add history as an option for elective courses.  Motion passed.

21.       Dr. Beason moved, seconded by Dr. Gandy to approve Changes to Existing Undergraduate Program:  Minor Options for BBA Majors (Boger).  Motion was made to delete Accounting, Finance, Human Resource Management, International Business, Management, Management of Information Systems and Marketing from the minor options for BBA Majors.  Motion passed.

22.       Dr. Beason moved, seconded by Dr. Brumm to approve Changes to Existing Undergraduate Program:  Bachelor of General Studies (BGS) (G. Green).  The changes involve reconfiguring the BGS curriculum. Motion passed.
