1.         P. Racheotes moved, second by S. Bhuiyan to nominate J. Hamilton as new chair of Curriculum Committee.  Motion passed.

 2.         S. Garick moved, second by S. Bhuiyan to approve minutes of March 17, 2004.  Motion passed.

 3.         P. Racheotes moved, second by S. Bhuiyan to approve ART 300:  Modern Art (Mueller) with the following changes:  On page 6, delete ‘12 week’ from course syllabus and revise the syllabus to reflect a 15 week semester.  Week 15 will be reflected as Finals.  Motion passed.

 4-7.      S. Garick moved, second by P. Racheotes to approve all four Bilingual Education courses (BE 470:  Bilingual Assessment & Monitoring; BE 472:  Bilingual & Dual Language Methodologies; BE 474:  Biliteracy for Bilingual & Dual Language Classrooms; BE 476:  Bilingual Content Area of Instruction)  (Mueller) with the following changes:  to check all courses on Course Inventory Add/Reinstate form as Required; to modify course descriptions to reflect those of A&M College Station.  Motion passed.

 8.         P. Racheotes moved, second by S. Bhuiyan to approve CJ 497: Special Topics in Criminal Justice (Jordan).  Motion passed.

 9.         J. Hamilton moved, second by P. Racheotes to approve course syllabus change for CJ 301: The Criminal Justice System - Police, Courts, Correction (Jordan).  Motion passed.

 10.       J. Hamilton moved, second by P. Racheotes to approve course syllabus change for CJ 310: The Juvenile Justice System (Jordan).  Motion passed.

 11.       J. Hamilton moved, second by P. Racheotes to approve course syllabus change for CJ 320: Deviance & Deviant Behavior (Jordan).  Motion passed.

 12.       J. Hamilton moved, second by P. Racheotes to approve course syllabus change for CJ 325: Crime & Delinquency (Jordan).  Motion passed.

 13.       J. Hamilton moved, second by P. Racheotes to approve course syllabus change for CJ 330: Institutional Corrections, Theory & Practice (Jordan).  Motion passed.

 14.       S. Garick moved, second by J. Hamilton to approve course syllabus change for CJ 330: Institutional Corrections, Theory & Practice (Jordan) to offer course as Interactive Video/Web-Enhanced.  Motion passed.

 15.       J. Hamilton moved, second by P. Racheotes to approve course syllabus change for CJ 340: Criminal Law & Procedure (Jordan).  Motion passed.

 16.       J. Hamilton moved, second by P. Racheotes to approve course syllabus change for CJ 350: Types of Crime (Jordan).  Motion passed.

 18.       J. Hamilton moved, second by P. Racheotes to approve course syllabus change for CJ 380: Ethnic & Cultural Minorities (Jordan).  Motion passed.

 19.       J. Hamilton moved, second by P. Racheotes to approve course syllabus change for CJ 420: Administration of Criminal Justice Agencies (Jordan).  Motion passed.

 20.       J. Hamilton moved, second by P. Racheotes to approve course syllabus change for CJ 430: Constitutional Issues (Jordan).  Motion passed.

 21.       J. Hamilton moved, second by P. Racheotes to approve course syllabus change for CJ 454: Research Techniques in Criminal Justice (Jordan).  Motion passed.

 22.       S. Garick moved, second by P. Racheotes to approve course syllabus change for CJ 470: Police Community Relations (Jordan) to offer course as Interactive Video/Web-Enhanced.  Motion passed.

 23-24.  P. Racheotes moved, second by J. Hamilton to table Course Inventory Add/Reinstate for ED 434:  Classroom Management & Teaching Strategies and ED 435:  Curriculum (Evans) until the following changes are made:  redo syllabus to reflect changes for new course; add grade and percentage, ie:  C = 70%; D = 60%; F = 50%; change IS 410 to SPED 410, and add Psy 2308 as prerequisite.  Motion passed.

 25.       S. Bhuiyan moved, second by S. Garick to approve changes to existing undergraduate program:  History (Mueller).  Motion passed.

 26.       S. Garick moved, second by S. Bhuiyan to approve changes to existing undergraduate program:  Social Studies (Mueller).  Motion passed.

 27.       P. Racheotes moved, second by J. Hamilton to approve SCED 597:  Special Topics in Integrated Physics & Chemistry with the following change to the justification:  To improve the teaching skills of high school and middle school teachers teaching integrated Physics and Chemistry.  A constructivist-based approach will be emphasized.  This course is funded by a grant received from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.  Motion passed. 

28.       P. Racheotes moved, second by S. Garick to approve changes to existing undergraduate program:  ENG 340:  Advanced Expository Writing to reflect this course on the degree plans of BAAS students.  Motion passed.

 29.       Old Business:

            Many thanks to George Parangimalil for his leadership, fairness, consistency, and keeping the Curriculum Committee on track during his tenure as chair.
