            Welcome Faculty Senate representative P. Racheotes as Committee member.

1.         J. Hamilton moved, second by S. Garick to approve October 8, 2003 minutes.  Motion passed.

2.         J. Hamilton moved, second by S. Garick to approve ITED 502:  Designing Instruction for the 21st Century Learner (Aworuwa).  Motion passed.

3.         J. Hamilton moved, second by S. Garick to approve  ITED 512:  Assessment & Evaluation of Technology-Based Instruction & Learning (Aworuwa).  Motion passed.

4.         S. Garick motioned, second by P. Racheotes to approve ITED 521: Instructional Video & Multimedia:  Production & Utilization (Godfrey).  Motion passed.

5.         R. Racheotes motioned, second by D. Allard to approved ENG 580:  The Study of Memoir as Literary Form (D. Davis).  Motion passed.

6.         S. Garick motioned, J. Hamilton seconded to approve RDG 501: Fundamentals of Reading Instruction (Brown) contingent upon deleting Yes beside “Multiple Topic” on the Course Inventory Add/Reinstate form.  Motion passed.

7.         J. Hamilton motioned, D. Allard seconded to approve ED 586:  EC-4 Methods:  Math, Science, & Physical Education (Sander).  Motion passed.

8.         J. Hamilton motioned, D. Allard seconded to approve ED 587:  EC-4 Methods:  Language Arts, Social Studies & Fine Arts (Hargus).  Motion passed.

9.         J. Hamilton motioned, D. Allard seconded to approve ED 505:  Strategies for Teaching English, Language Arts & Reading (Hargus).  Motion passed.

10.       P. Racheotes motioned, second by S. Garick to approve AE 595:  Research Methods in Adult Education (Ballard).  Motion passed .

11.       ED 456:  Second Language Acquisition (Rodriquez) tabled until next meeting for syllabus corrections, make Justification where all information can be read, and change the Justification to read:  The Hispanic culture continues to grow in our area in NE Texas.  There has become an increasing need for bilingual and English as a Second Language teachers in our area public school systems.  This course will help to address this situation.

12.       ED 458:  Methods of Teaching English as a Second Language (Rodriquez) tabled until next meeting for syllabus corrections.

13.       J. Hamilton motioned, second by S. Garick to approve ED 580: Alternative Certification Program Internship (Rodriquez) contingent upon changing the Justification to read:  This course will serve as a practicum/residency for interns participating in the Alternative Certification Program.  Motion passed.

14.       D. Allard motioned, second by P. Racheotes to approve IS 497:  Community Leadership (Walker).  Motion passed.

15.       P. Racheotes motioned, second by D. Allard to approve changes to MKT 365:  SalesmanshipMKT 465: Sales Management contingent upon changing the rationale in “Major Requirements” on the “Changes to Existing Undergraduate Program” form to read:  Remove the requirement to take this course (MKT 365) in the marketing program; students are required to take this (MKT 465) or any 3 SCH business elective.  Motion passed.

16.       Changes to Existing Undergraduate Program:  To offer BAAS degree as a distance education program (Ballard) tabled until next meeting.
