Undergraduate Curriculum Committee Minutes

1.         Agenda

2.         Meeting called to order at 2:06 PM by Dr. Racheotes. 

3.         Dr. Beason moved, seconded by Dr. Brumm to approve minutes from previous meeting May 9, 2007.  Motion passed

4.         Items that were distributed to be voted on via email during June and August 2007 were recognized. 

5.         Dr. Garick moved, seconded by Dr. Brumm to approve Changes to Existing Undergraduate Program:  BSN.  A discussion ensued illustrating that a request to change NURS 302 Health Assessment from 4 sch to 3 sch must be submitted.  Dr. Garick moved to table this item, seconded by Dr. Haque.  Motion to Table passed.

6.         Dr. Haque moved, seconded by Dr. Brumm to approve Course Inventory Change:  NURS 305 Professional Nursing Practice with Individuals & Families (Garick).  The prerequisite of SOC 423 was removed as a requirement for the Nursing Degree Plan, therefore, decreasing the number of hours from 125 to 122 to graduate.  Motion passed

7.         Dr. Garick moved, seconded by Dr. Haque to approve Course Syllabus Change:  SPED 416 Behavior Management and Motivation (Beason).  The course delivery system was approved as a Web-Enhanced Course.  Motion passed

8.         Dr. Garick moved, seconded by Dr. Haque to approve Course Syllabus Change:  SPED 418 Inclusion Strategies and Techniques (Beason).  The course delivery system was approved as a Web-Enhanced Course. Motion passed

9.         Dr. Haque moved, seconded by Dr. Garick to approve Changes to Existing Undergraduate Program:  Political Science Major (Bugh).  Discussion ensued illustrating that the only change needed was a request to add PSCI 395 Methods of Political Science Research.  Dr. Garick moved to table this item, seconded by Dr. Beason.  Dr. Bugh will submit the request at the October meeting. Motion to Table Passed

10.       Dr. Garick moved, seconded by Dr. Haque to table Changes to Existing Undergraduate Program:  Political Science Minor (Bugh).  Motion to Table Passed

11.       Old Business:  None

12.       Other Business:  Kristi Johnson requested that no changes to degree plan worksheets be prepared until they are submitted to either Kristi or Pat Black so that a tentative copy can be prepared and placed on file. 

13.       Meeting adjournment at 2:25 pm.
