Master of Science in Instructional Technology (MSIT)

The Master of Science in Instructional Technology program is designed for individuals seeking to be practitioners in the field of instructional technology. It prepares graduates for a variety of professional positions in diverse contexts, such as instructional designers, trainers, e-learning specialists, technology integration specialists, human performance technologists, and human resource development personnel.

We offer both residential and online MSIT programs:

  • Residential MSIT Program: Students are expected to take most of their course work on the Texarkana campus.
  • Online MSIT Program: This online program is intended primarily for working professionals.

Course Work includes 36 semester credit hours.

Certification Programs in Instructional Technology

Master Technology Teacher (MTT) EC-12 Certification

The Master Technology Teacher certification program prepares teachers who have three years teaching experience or a Technology Applications certificate to become technology integration leaders in an EC-12 school environment.

Course Work includes 21 semester credit hours.

Typical options include courses in: Business,   Curriculum and Instruction, Computer Science, Educational   Psychology, Elementary Education, Secondary Education, Special   Education, Adult Education, Library and Information Science, etc.   Depending on your interests, you may take your electives at another   institution.

Candidate for this certification must maintain a minimum of B in all courses and must pass a representative test to be recommended for certification examination.  Procedure for applying to take the TExMAT is available at http://texes.ets.org/  

Technology Applications 8-12 Certification

Technology Applications Certification program prepares individuals pursuing initial teaching certification through the regular or alternative certification routes to become teachers of technology applications at the middle and high school levels.

Course Work includes 12 semester credit hours.
