The financial health of a corporation is at the very nucleus of the sphere entitled investment decision making. Investment may take the form of potential shareholders purchasing a company’s stock for the first time or a current equity holder increasing their amount of shares held. Further, management of the firm in consideration, and also those of competing firms will utilize one powerful tool to evaluate their current strategy. This tool is known as Financial Statement Analysis. The foresight and knowledge provided through Financial Statement Analysis is an essential skill that transforms a common user into an informed user (Fridson [1995] 1996, 3).
