TEXAS A&M UNIVERSITY-TEXARKANA RECEIVES GRANT TO PURCHASE MOBILE GO CENTER

TEXARKANA, TX. – July 16, 2007 – Texas A&M University-Texarkana has received a

grant from the Texas Pioneer Foundation in the amount of $124,343.00 to purchase a

Mobile Go Center. Texas Pioneer Foundation President Fred Markham announced the

details of the grant at a recent check presentation ceremony held at the university.

The purpose of the Mobile Go Center is to serve as a mobile unit to promote

university programs, enrollment, scholarship and financial aid information by traveling to

various high schools and community colleges, festivals and other avenues to reach

students who may not have the knowledge or means to apply at the

university. The mobile unit, equipped with lap top computers, will provide university

representatives the means of helping students enroll at the university. The grant allows

funding to purchase a custom built trailer, equipment and a truck to pull the trailer.
