Texas A&M University-Texarkana offers a wide variety of scholarship opportunities through the Recruitment Office. Our commitment to students is to provide as many resources as we can to help fund your education. Our goal is to see students succeed.

Most scholarships offered through the Recruitment office are based on academic achievement and/or leadership. Some scholarships may also require a copy of your tax return and/or completeion of the FAFSA. Students can apply for more than one scholarship, if they meet the criteria. However, students can contact the Financial Aid Office at www.tamut.edu or 903-223-3066 if they wish to apply for need based aid and/or have questions regarding the FAFSA. Students are also encouraged to check with their college department for scholarships.

How to Apply

All deadlines and applications can be found via web at www.tamut.edu.

Maintaining Criteria/Repayment Penalty

Unless the individual scholarship policy states otherwise, in order for an academic scholarship recipient to retain any disbursement of his/her award, the student must maintain all criteria for the scholarship at least 60% of the scholarship award period (10 weeks) per regular semester (Fall through Spring) and at least 60% of the scholarship award period for summer terms. Should the student fail to meet all the criteria during this time, the student will be required to repay the scholarship award prior to the first class day of the next semester. The student must also satisfactorily complete the minimum number of hours required by the scholarship program each semester in order to receive any remaining scholarship funds for the subsequent semester.

Outstanding Financial Obligations

Students are responsible for paying all financial obligations owed to the university when due. Prior to the end of each semester or term each student should determine that all accounts are paid. Non-payment of any accounts will be entered on the student’s record and the Registrar’s Office will withhold transcripts, diplomas, and credits until the obligation is paid in full. In addition, students will be prohibited from registering for classes until full payment is made.

If you have a question about dropping course or your repayment amount, contact the Coordinator of Scholarships at 903-223-1353.
