A&M-Texarkana advisors want to help you

achieve excellence and fulfill your dreams!

We are ready to help you plan course schedule, to discuss your career questions, or just to talk!

Undergraduate Students

Students are required to meet with their advisors every semester!

Early in your first A&M-Texarkana semester, your advisor will be assigned. As soon as you receive your degree plan from academic Services (Degree Planning), meet with your advisor to review the plan and get the Advisement Verification card signed. You will need this signature to enroll for your second semester.

Before you enroll for your second semester, you are required to meet with your advisor. Phone or email for an appointment. Take your degree plan, the Advisement Verification card, and be prepared to discuss your current course semester-to-semester plan and your questions.

Students are responsible for contacting advisors and the best way to do that is send an email to your advisor. Introduce yourself, ask for an appointment, and suggest a couple of times/dates that are good for you. Don’t wait until the last minute because you need to meet with your advisor prior to registration! Each semester you should contact your advisor and update your plan and just talk!

Graduate Students

You will need to apply and be accepted into the Graduate Studies Program. If you are part of the Alternative Certification Program you are required to meet that set of entrance requirements as well. Prior to your first semester, your advisor will be assigned. Phone or email your advisor for an appointment.
