Early Alert/Intervention
Early Alert/Early Intervention Program
Because students may have difficulty adjusting to the atmosphere in higher education, the Success Center has an early alert/referral program. If students are not performing up to academic standards, the following procedures are in place to assist them:
1. Faculty member identifies student(s) who are not performing up to academic standards (not attending class, low test grades, poor writing skills, etc.).
2. Faculty member contacts student(s) about area(s) of concern.
3. Faculty member makes an alert via email (epatterson@tamut.edu) to Success Center Specialist for student(s) who are at risk for not successfully completing the course.
4. Once received, Success Center Specialist will contact student(s) who have an alert from more than two faculty members.
5. Success Center Specialist will follow-up with each faculty member who makes an alert.
Please refer students as soon as you notice any issues or areas of concern. By intervening early, we can increase our students’ chance of successfully completing their coursework.
