“Freshman Convocation is the ceremonial joining of the student to the academic community of the University.
Convocation allows us to reflect on the nature of academic pursuits, and to consider the life-long path of learning that a university degree represents.
The Texas A&M-Texarkana Freshman Convocation features a faculty procession in full academic regalia, the signing of the Libra Matricula by incoming students, and the signing of the alma mater and Gaudeamus Igitur.”
