Master of Arts in English: A student interested in
this degree must have a baccalaureate degree from an accredited
institution with a minimum of 2.5 GPA on the last 60 hours of
undergraduate courses. The Master of Arts in English allows
students the opportunity to focus on course work in literature.
Individuals who graduate with this degree are eligible to teach
dual credit courses in high school (if they are certified to
teach in public school) or they may qualify to teach at a
community college.
Master of Science in History: A student with this
degree must have a baccalaureate degree from an accredited
institution with a minimum of 2.5 GPA on the last 60 hours of
undergraduate courses. The Master of Science in History allows
students the opportunity to focus on course work in history.
Individuals who graduate with this degree are eligible to teach
dual credit courses in high school (if they are certified to
teach in public school) or they may qualify to teach at a
community college. The Master of Science in History also
provides a solid foundation for those who wish to pursue a Ph.
D. in History. Finally, the Master of Science in History is a
degree that satisfies students who simply enjoy studying history
and want to read and write about history.
Master of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies: A
student with this degree must have a baccalaureate degree from
an accredited institution with a minimum of 2.5 GPA on the last
60 hours of undergraduate courses. This degree was developed
to allow and encourage students to pursue their general
education at the graduate level in courses that stimulate and
enhance their personal, intellectual, and cultural development.
Master of Science in Adult Education: A student with
this degree must have a baccalaureate degree from an accredited
institution with a minimum of 2.5 GPA on the last 60 hours of
undergraduate courses. Graduates of this program will be
prepared for careers in which they work directly with other
adults in a teaching/training capacity. Students may use this
degree in industry in Training and Development, in Continuing
Education at the community college, in Adult Literacy Centers,
or in non-profit agencies.
Education
Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction: A
student with this degree must have a baccalaureate degree from
an accredited institution with a minimum of 2.5 GPA on the last
60 hours of undergraduate courses. The purpose of the M.S. in
Curriculum and Instruction is to prepare teachers who are fully
certified to become master-level teachers. Prior teaching
experience, although not required for program acceptance, is
advisable.
Master of Science in Education: A student with this
degree must have a baccalaureate degree from an accredited
institution with a minimum of 2.5 GPA on the last 60 hours of
undergraduate courses. Students with this degree may major in
special education or may test to become certified as an
educational diagnostician.
Master of Education in Educational Administration: A
student with this degree must have a baccalaureate degree from
an accredited institution with a minimum of 2.5 GPA on the last
60 hours of undergraduate courses. Students with this degree
also complete the appropriate TExES exam to be certified as
principals or superintendents.
Master of Science in Instructional Technology: A
student with this degree must have a baccalaureate degree from
an accredited institution with a minimum of 3.0 GPA on the last
60 hours of undergraduate courses. Individuals with this degree
are in high demand in both industry and education for their
skills with technology. Students may also be eligible to
receive the Master Technology Teacher (M.T.T.) designation with
this degree. |
