• have researched substitute competitor products
• have proposed a potentially competitive product and price
• have done some research regarding the potential size and location of the target market
• have formulated an initial rough answer to the client's problem

Outline your final report to indicate the sections and general flow of your report.  Although there is no one single correct format for the report, DO make sure that you look over the final case report assignment to ensure that your outline addresses the issues that are required in the assignment.  Note that an outline means that you are submitting a brief skeleton; you are not writing sentences or listing anything specific with regard to information or recommendations.
