• map location and satellite views
  You can type an address, intersection, or place name on Yahoo Maps and Google Maps to find street, satellite, or overlayed views of an area.  Texarkana Maps has links to arial photography views (more clear), restaurant and lodging locations, and traffic counts.

  Note that Yahoo and Google maps are copyrighted.  Right now, I'm not sure about the various maps linked from Texarkana Maps.  I've emailed Texarkana Water Utilities to ask about maps that are apparently generated by an application licensed to them and need a few days to look into other sources of maps that are linked.

• FairData maps and charts
  FairData at http://www.fairdata2000.com/ automatically plots useful maps of census data.  The indexes are difficult to navigate with regard to getting to the maps of interest to us, so click HERE to get right to the College Hill area.  From this page, click on drop-down menu on left to find median household income, single mom households, households with no vehicle, etc. 

  Note that FairData says that the Firefox browser might return erroneous information.  I have emailed FarData to ask about copyright issues.

• US Census maps and data to the tract and block level
  Go to the FactFinder homepage at US Census, located at http://factfinder.census.gov.  Near the bottom of the left column is a link to enter a street address.  Recently, I have had trouble getting it to work -- all I can say is keep trying at different times. 
  • Enter an address. 
  • Click "Census Tract 205" in drop down menu, then click the "next" or "OK" button.
  • Click a "theme" or "thematic map" in the list that now displays in the list below the table or in the & quot;theme" drop down menu of a new table;, then click on a listed item or on the "show result" button.
  • When you want to change the map "theme", click the browser "back" button to return to the drop down menu
