Starting a Zoom Meeting
Starting a Zoom Meeting from the Desktop
- Open the Zoom Meeting Client on the Desktop.
- Click Sign In.
- Login to Zoom using your university email and previously selected password. Click “Forgot” to reset your password if you’ve forgotten it.

- Click on New Meeting to start a new unscheduled meeting
-OR-
Click on the Meetings tab at the top of the Zoom Client and click Start next to a previously scheduled meeting.
Start a Zoom Meeting from Blackboard
- Open the Firefox web browser and navigate to Blackboard.
- Log in and access your class shell.
- Click the Zoom Meetings link under Communications (note, it may be called something else. If you do not see a link to Zoom, open an ISITE request).
- Click the Start button next to a previously scheduled meeting*
-OR-
Click Schedule a New Meeting in the top right corner
Set it for the current date and time* and click Save
Click Start this Meeting.
* NOTE: If you have linked your ShareStream and Zoom accounts and want your meeting recording to be automatically added to Blackboard, please do not use your Zoom Personal Meeting ID when scheduling a meeting in Blackboard.
