Traditional BSN

BSN - Traditional Track The BSN traditional track is a 4-year program leading to the baccalaureate degree in nursing and prepares the graduate to take the registered nurse licensure exam (NCLEX). The program requires
  • 61 SCH in prerequisite and core coursework
  • 59 SCH in nursing courses

Students are enrolled as Pre-Nursing majors prior to acceptance into the nursing program. Science courses must have been taken within the last 5 years from the date of admission to the program, including BIOL 2401, 2402, 2405, CHEM 1311/111, and Nutrition (HSCI 1323).  Students must be within 3 semester credit hours of completion of prerequisite and core coursework prior to being accepted into the nursing program. Coursework may be completed during the spring semester, as applicants to the nursing program are being considered. Students should begin the application process in October to ensure completion by January 15.

Requirements for Application

  • Applications are accepted yearly, and must be submitted by January 15.
  • Review the Admission and Application Packet for details.
  • The required 2.8 GPA in sciences will be determined using the following courses: Anatomy & Physiology I & II, Chemistry, Microbiology, Math and Nutrition courses.
