TEAS

The Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS), developed by Assessment Technologies, Inc. (ATI), is an assessment which is standardized, timed, multiple choice, computer-based, and comprised of the following:

TEAS testing at Texas A&M University-Texarkana Testing Center is available to both A&M-Texarkana program applicants and students applying to programs at other institutions. TEAS is the required Nursing Admissions entrance exam.  Click Nursing Program for an overview of degree programs offered at A&M-Texarkana.   

The Testing Center is operating at less than 50% capacity, and appointments are MANDATORY.  For the health and safety of the staff and other examinees, we ask that if you are ill or have been exposed to COVID-19 that you do not schedule an appointment OR that you cancel or reschedule your existing testing appointment by calling the Testing Center directly.  Social distancing is in place in the Testing Center, common areas, such as hallways, restrooms, and lobbies.

ATI TEAS is offering in-person and online remote proctoring (Proctorio) for exam administration.  Please follow the below instructions and links to complete your administration preference. Upon registering via ATI TEAS, please note, you will need to visit the Testing Center site and schedule (reserve) appointment.

The Testing Center is taking extra precautions by sanitizing workstations between each examinee and will be practicing social distancing.  Please review COVID-19 Student Guide for campus guidelines.

You MUST create an account on the ATI TEAS website to register for the TEAS assessment.

In-Person Test Day Information

  • All TEAS registrations are final, no exceptions.  Visit TEAS In-person to register. 
  • If you can’t make the purchased session and have a documented emergency, please contact: 800-667-7531, and they can let you know where to send documentation. If you miss the original purchase date, it will not count against you as an attempt, however you will have to pay for an additional session.   
  • Come prepared with ATI Username/Password/Paper Pencil credentials.  If you are not prepared with log in credentials, you may be denied testing and will not be rescheduled or refunded. 
  • Must present non-expired government-issued photo ID at time of check in.  NO EXCEPTIONS
  • Arrive at least 30 min prior to the testing facility to report for check in, late arrivals will NOT be allowed to test and will not be rescheduled or refunded. 
  • Calculators, cell phones and other electronic devices are NOT allowed
  • Basic 4 function calculator is accessible on screen, if test is paper pencil, basic 4 function calculator will be provided by test facility. 
  • Allow 4 hours for test session

Online Virtual Remote Proctoring (Proctorio) Test Day Information

You are registering for a remote version of the ATI TEAS Exam with Proctorio.  The start time of this exam is posted in the time zone of A&M-Texarkana you are registering for.  Visit TEAS Online (Proctorio) to register.

Before the exam, A&M-Texarkana will provide you with the assessment ID (please check your email for communication).  If you do not have an assessment/product ID within 24 hours of your scheduled date/time, please contact A&M-Texarkana.  All TEAS registrations are final, no refunds or reschedules.   

Please note that you are UNABLE to bring your laptop to the Testing Center (UC325) if you choose to complete TEAS via Proctorio (Online/Virtual).  You MUST locate a SECLUDED room to take your exam.

Before you take the exam, please read the following information in its entirety.  ***Note:  If certain tech requirements are not met prior to testing, you will have to do so during your test time.

Before your exam day, ensure that you are able to meet the following technical requirements:

  • Microphone: Any microphone, either internal or external 
  • Webcam: 320x240 VGA resolution (minimum) internal or external 
  • Desktop of laptop computer –  NO iPads, tablets or phones are to be used  – with the ability to download Google Chrome

Prior to exam start time:

As you await the start time of your exam, set yourself up for success by doing the following:

  • Ensure you are using a fully charged laptop or desktop computer with a webcam and microphone.
  • Install Google Chrome on your device.  You will not be able to take the remote version of the ATI TEAS Exam with Proctorio using any other browser. 
  • Have a government-issued ID card available.
  • Find a well-lit space and be ready for a room scan prior to the assessment.
  • Prepare one piece of blank paper to be used during the exam. Please destroy the paper upon completion.
  • All TEAS registrations are final, no exceptions.

Retest

You must wait 2 weeks before you can retake the TEAS Assessment.
