RELLIS Campus

What is RELLIS?

The RELLIS Academic Alliance is a University System Center, that allows multiple Texas A&M System institutions and agencies, including Texas A&M University-Texarkana as well as the Blinn College District, to offer selective degree and certificate programs in one location. The RELLIS Campus is not a university, students will enroll in one of the A&M System regional universities that are offering programs on-site, similar to an academic satellite campus. The RELLIS Academic Alliance brings students, faculty and researchers together in a unique community that encourages the pollination of ideas across people, disciplines and industries. Together, these universities and agencies make the RELLIS Academic Alliance one of the most dynamic and innovative destinations for 21st century learning in the state of Texas.

RELLIS stands for the six Texas A&M Aggies’ core values: respect, excellence, leadership, loyalty, integrity, and selfless service.

The field of biology is rapidly evolving and offers many career opportunities. Students with a degree in biology have a wide range of career choices from research to teaching, medicine to ecology, and wildlife management to agricultural development. With new discoveries being made daily, the field of biological sciences promises to remain vital and ever changing for those who seek an exciting and interesting career. Texas A&M University‐Texarkana’s Bachelor of Science in Biology program at RELLIS is especially pleased to offer the biology major with various minor options, allowing students greater flexibility in their preparation for in-demand careers within the biology and life sciences industry. The biology program also prepares students for graduate school. With hands-on learning opportunities for original research which is rarely available to undergraduate students at larger schools, the biology program provides access to high-quality education experiences.

Electrical Engineering

Electrical Engineering at RELLIS is an ABET-accredited program; it covers a broad field of study including control systems, computer systems, electronics, communications systems, and power systems. Students enrolled in our EE program can expect to learn concepts through experiential learning and will conduct experiments in several laboratories designed to strengthen theoretical knowledge acquired in regular courses. An electrical engineering student at RELLIS will study and learn the fundamentals of designing an extensive array of systems in a far-reaching spectrum of applications and job opportunities. In addition, our students have access to unique resources, including the IoT apartment, real-time power simulation platform, and a SCADA lab.
