The Office of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging at A&M Texarkana is committed to creating an atmosphere that encourages, supports, and celebrates the diverse voices and perspectives of our faculty, staff, and students.  The goal of the office is to facilitate an environment where everyone can perform at their best, feel seen, heard, and acknowledged, particularly those from traditionally underrepresented groups. We are committed to eliminating barriers that may hinder success and to providing support, resources, guidance, and assistance to advance our shared efforts toward inclusion and a sense of belonging. We believe that our collective differences and backgrounds create a stronger and more resilient campus environment that connects us as members of the Eagle family.

A&M–Texarkana established the Office of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging in 2022 to demonstrate its commitment to a campus environment that values diversity and honors the unique differences that exist within our community of faculty, staff, and students. The primary objective for our Office of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging is to help co-create and sustain an inclusive campus environment that reinforces student success and achievement and builds positive relationships across the community.

As an organization, we recognize Inclusive Excellence as an integral process to fulfill our primary mission and our strategic plan. Inclusive Excellence is a framework developed by the American Association of Colleges and Universities (AACU) to help organizations recruit, support, and retain a diverse population of students, faculty, and staff, and to encourage and recognize the benefits of diversity of thought and perspectives.  We pledge to keep Inclusive Excellence at the highest level of institutional importance and as a foundation in all that we strive to do.
