Taking a ProctorU online proctored exam

If your instructor has informed you that you will be taking ProctorU proctored online exams, here is the information you need to get started.

  • Test your equipment

  • A functioning microphone (some web cameras have them built-in)

  • A compatible browser: Google Chrome (preferred) or Mozilla Firefox


  • X Tablets (Nexus, iPad, Tab, Note, etc.)

  • X No development previews, beta builds or release candidates of any operating system unless specified

How it Works

  • Use either Chrome or Firefox.

  • Download and install the ProctorU Extension for your preferred browser: Chrome or Firefox 

  • Create your ProctorU account from within your Blackboard course.

  • Take your exam normally through Blackboard whenever it’s convenient for you. No scheduling required!

  • Be in a private, well-lit room

  • Clear your workspace

  • Close all third-party programs
