Involvement and Engagement
The College of Business, Engineering and Technology at Texas A&M University–Texarkana openly invites the community to engage with the university at all levels including students, faculty, staff, administration and all other stakeholders. In all courses, the faculty invites community engagement with students through assignments, discussions, site visits, and lectures. Course materials reflect the applied nature of the College of Business curriculum as is guided and reflected by the mission of the college.
Community engagement occurs through many avenues with the industrial community including speakers, internships, tours, class projects, and student organizations just to name a few. The faculty is encouraged to develop innovative engagement interactions, and the students are encouraged to participate in community engagement related activities. These activities fit with the applied nature of the mission of our Business, Engineering and Technology. The impact on the students is that they see and understand the application of the theories that they are learning in the classroom.
