All students who have declared Computer Science as their major, including freshmen and transfer students, must see their academic advisor every semester before enrolling for next semester courses.

Advising sessions are helpful to discuss curriculum, course load, as well as career options depending on the student progress in the CS degree. For transfer students, CS faculty advising is paramount to identify the appropriate courses in the CS degree in according to prerequisite constraints.

Academic advisors in UC can assist students with adjustment to college life, monitor student’s academic progress, and advise students for scholarship opportunities.
