New Student Orientation

Each semester, the Office of Graduate Studies hosts a New and Current Graduate Student Orientation/Mixer. This orientation brings together graduate students, faculty, and alumni to share experiences within graduate school.

Our Career Services Office offers a wide range of useful tools to assist our graduate students in preparation of moving forward in their career through resume and cover letter review and even interview preparation.

Library

The Texas A&M University-Texarkana library is named in honor of the university's founding president, Dr. John F. Moss. It is located on the south side of the third and fourth floors in the University Center. For users’ convenience, the library provides the following amenities: KIC, the Knowledge Imaging Center, which offers the ability to copy pages from books, resize, digitize and e-mail documents, or save as media files; an open computer lab for class assignments or research; computer print stations (black & white or color); scanners; the Commons Area for Leisure Reading with Best Sellers; magazines and newspaper rack; Media Services provides media equipment (digital cameras, camcorders, calculators, USB headsets, Nooks, Kindles, Notebooks); and two study rooms for collaborative study. Supplies Services offer kits containing items needed for projects as well as everyday items such as scissors, stapler, hole punch, etc., bibliographic instruction; exhibitions by regional artists and resources in a wide variety of formats.

Virtual Tools and Software for Remote Learning

MS Teams is a web-based platform that allows effective collaboration by streamlining the entire meeting process. MS Teams has no restrictions for students, making it a popular option for hosting their meetings. The Office of Information Technology has good guides on setting up an appointment in Teams, whether you are setting it up through Outlook or Teams directly.

Zoom provides audio and audio/video conferencing with screen-sharing and text chat features, especially for small and large groups. Zoom meetings will need to be hosted on paid subscription accounts as the free version only allows for a 40-minute meeting.

WebEx is a web-based platform that allows effective collaboration by streamlining the entire meeting process, providing a secure online space to share all media-related information. Meetings can be scheduled and joined by any computer with Internet access or even a mobile device. Meeting Center is limited to 8 participants.

One Button Studio- 

TAMUT's One Button Recording Studio (OBS) is open to faculty, staff, and students. Using only a flash drive or two, you can create quality recordings without the need for complicated hardware or time-consuming editing software. No video production experience is required!

The OBS is located in University Center 322 and can be reserved via Ad Astra. Please visit the One Button Studio page on information on how to reserve your time and learn to how to create recordings.
