Message from the Associate Provost

It is truly an honor and a privilege to serve as Associate Provost and head of the Office of Research and Sponsored Projects at Texas A&M University-Texarkana. I am delighted to welcome you and provide information about our Research and Sponsored Projects. Texas A&M-Texarkana is a regional comprehensive public university and is a member of The Texas A&M University System, one of the largest and most distinguished higher education systems in the nation.

The Office of Research and Sponsored Projects (ORSP) assists the university community in research-related training, facilitating intellectual property development, institutional grants, and contracts for securing grants funds from public and private agencies as per the university mission. The office supports faculty, staff, and student research activities through all project stages – from the initial planning to project completion. The mission of the ORSP is to promote, facilitate, encourage, and support enhancing research, scholarly activities, grants, and sponsored projects.

We are responsible for reviewing and approving proposals for submission to sponsors. We also interpret, negotiate, and accept grants and contracts for sponsored programs (externally funded activities) that include funding from federal and state agencies, foundations, and other public and private sources.

You will find information on our support services through this portal, highlights of our current research initiatives, funding opportunities, research programs, training workshops, and research policies and procedures. A small sample of recent activities illustrates the wide variety of the university's scholarship, creativity, and research.

We look forward to the continued successes and recognition of our research and sponsored projects. Please take your time to explore our ORSP portal, use the available information and links, and contact the ORSP staff with questions or suggestions.

We look forward to working with you!
