Library Spaces

The library is a spacious (30,157 sq ft), modern facility with large windows over-looking the campus and lake. It has been designed to provide students, faculty, and visitors with a variety of common spaces to appeal to individual preferences and needs including casual seating, comfortable lounge areas, study nooks, group and individual study tables as well as group study rooms. Casual seating and study tables extend into both the third and fourth floor lobbies just outside the library’s walls.
Study Rooms
Library study rooms provide a place for library patrons to concentrate and collaborate. They are typically equipped with comfortable furniture, power outlets and access to the internet. Each room is reserved for a specific amount of time, allowing students and other members of the community to work without distraction. The study rooms offer a great benefit to library members, helping them to find success in their studies and research.
Computer Labs
Located on the 3rd floor, the Moss Library’s computer lab provides desktop computers with a variety of software programs and high-speed internet. Students can access research databases, e-books, e-journals, the library’s online catalog, and other online resources. For our user’s convenience, the printing and scanning station is adjacent to the computer lab, and library staff are always available to help.
Printing and Scanning Station

Tucked between the computer lab and the Library Commons, the Printing and Scanning Station serves as a one-stop shop for library visitors needing to collect print jobs, scan readings, or utilize other basic supplies for assignments, including staplers, hole punches, and laminators. This space also includes the Ellison Die Cut machines, which can be used to cut out letters and shapes for posters and assignments. View our LibGuide for a full listing of available dies. Students will need to provide their own laminating pockets or colored paper, but a box of usable scraps will be available for perusal in this area.

Library Common Areas

The Library Commons is located on the third floor outside of the study rooms. Comfy seating and low tables make this an ideal space for informal gatherings, discussions, or just hanging out between classes. Organizations can book this space for events, or individuals can come and go, moving around the rolling whiteboards as needed.

Periodicals

The Periodicals area makes for a convenient gathering place just past the circulation desk in the library. It houses the library’s rotating stands of magazines and journals, as well as glass cases displaying a selection of the anatomical models, media equipment, and archival resources available in the library. Located right outside of the archives, the tables in this space make a great spot for researchers to spread out.

The Nook

The Nook is one of the newest library spaces, tucked away to the side of the study rooms and Commons area. Featuring quirky interactive displays, and a lookout onto the FOLIO section of the library, this cozy spot is great for an extended study session or small group chat.

Study Spots

The library offers a host of study spots along the outer walls on the 3rd and 4th floors. With plenty of natural light from the windows and outlets for charging devices, these desks are ideal for individuals who need to concentrate. Additional study carrels can be found around the 4th floor, which is designated as a the library’s quiet zone.
