Nurse Practitioner Programs

Nurse Practitioner Programs

A nurse practitioner is defined as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) who provides quality patient care with a personal touch. Texas A&M University-Texarkana is proud to offer two nurse practitioner tracks: a Family Nurse Practitioner track and a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner track. Both programs offer a BSN to MSN option as well as a post-MSN certification program for those who have their MSN and are seeking certification in these areas. Each program takes three (3) years to complete and the certification programs are 1 ½ years to complete. Our NP programs are offered in a hybrid manner with the didactic portions of the course conducted online in both a synchronous and asynchronous manner to accommodate busy work schedules. Both programs require a once-a-month on-campus meeting. When the program is complete, our graduates will be able to seek national board certification in their respective fields.
