A&M-Texarkana believes high admissions standards, rigorous coursework and quality field experiences in conjunction with strong partnerships between the university, school districts, community colleges and other entities best prepare candidates for successful careers in the teaching profession. Candidates seeking teaching certification earn master's credit while completing the program through online and web-enhanced courses. 
Teacher Prep Program
Teacher Certification

Teacher prep program is a series of courses and training programs that equip aspiring educators with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the classroom. These programs vary in length and content, with some including field experience and student teaching. The goal of a teacher prep program is to prepare future teachers with the tools and strategies necessary to effectively teach and engage students of all backgrounds. Graduates of teacher prep programs are typically eligible to apply for state teaching licenses and certifications.
MSCI - Reading Specialist Certification
Master's, Certification

The Masters in Curriculum and Instruction with a specialization as a Reading Specialist prepares individuals to become Literacy Leaders on a campus or in a district. This might include careers as an Instructional Coach or Curriculum Coordinator, or simply supplement an administrators’ knowledge based in the Science of Teaching Reading as required by HB3.
Educational Diagnostician Certification

Educational Diagnostician Certification prepare knowledgeable caring professionals equipped with valuable tools that serve students with exceptionalities in today’s classrooms. Programs embrace cultural and linguistic diversity emphasizing the importance of evidence-based practice, critical thinking skills, interdisciplinary collaboration, ethical principles and continued professional development meeting standards for the Council for Exceptional Children.
Principal Certification
Certification

Principal Certification Program at A&M-Texarkana offering 1) a 30-hour Master’s Degree in Education Leadership, or  2) an 18-hour Principal Certification-Only program with an ongoing principal practicum lab.  Both programs provide students with the necessary skills to become effective school administrators within today’s educational climate. Courses are delivered fully online and emphasize quality interactions between the instructor and student. The format for courses is tailored to meet the demands of today’s busy professional educators and graduate students. 
Superintendent Certification
Certification

The Texas A&M University-Texarkana's Texas Superintendent Certification Preparation Program is aligned to the Texas Superintendent Standards and the Test Framework of the Texas Examination of Educator Standards (TExES) through four courses (12 SCH) and 20 additional hours of conferences and/or training approved by program faculty. The 160 practicum hours across both semesters must be completed in a Texas school district. The Superintendent Certification Program at A&M-Texarkana offers two delivery models: Fully Online Program or the Ratliff Academy.
