New Incoming Students Scholarships
New Students' Fall 2024 - When a student completes the university's custom admission application, they automatically apply for TAMUT scholarships. Students will be contacted via Ace Mail if a scholarship offer is made.
To be considered and eligible, you must:
- Select ‘yes’ when asked, ‘Would you like TAMUT to consider you for all TAMUT scholarships?’ on our admission application.
- Must be accepted for admission by the scholarship priority deadline (May 1st for Fall 2024).
First Time in College Scholarships - 4 Year Renewable Scholarships
Presidential Scholarship | $9000 Yearly
Eligibility
- Must be 2024 High School Graduate
- Must have a minimum 4.0 high school GPA and 28 or higher ACT (1300 or higher SAT score)
- Must enroll in a minimum of 15 hours each semester at A&M-Texarkana
- These funds are limited. Even though a student might meet the scholarship criteria, they may not receive the scholarship as these scholarships are competitive
Renewal Requirements
- Must maintain a cumulative 3.0 Undergraduate GPA
- Must enroll in 15 hours each semester at A&M-Texarkana
- Must successfully complete 30 hours per academic year (fall/spring/summer)
Valedictorian/Salutatorian Scholarship | $8000 Yearly
Eligibility
- Must be a 2024 High School Graduate
- Must be ranked #1 or #2 in high school class
- Must enroll in a minimum of 15 hours each semester at A&M-Texarkana
- These funds are limited. Even though a student might meet the scholarship criteria, they may not receive the scholarship as these scholarships are competitive
Renewal Requirements
- Must maintain a cumulative 3.0 Undergraduate GPA

Soaring Eagle Scholarship | $6000 Yearly
Eligibility
- Must be a 2024 High School Graduate
- Must have a minimum 3.5 to 3.99 high school GPA or 23-27 ACT (1100-12999 SAT score)
- Must enroll in a minimum of 15 hours each semester at A&M-Texarkana
- These funds are limited. Even though a student might meet the scholarship criteria, they may not receive the scholarship as these scholarships are competitive

Eagle Elite Scholarship Arkansas | $3000 Yearly ($4000 for Honors College)
Eligibility
- 2024 Graduate of any Arkansas high school within 100 miles
- Must have a minimum 3.0 high school GPA
- Students with a 3.50 high school GPA or higher receive direct admission into the A&M-Texarkana Honors College plus an additional $1,000 scholarship.
- All new students meeting this criteria will qualify

Eagle Elite Scholarship East Texas | $3000 Yearly ($4000 for Honors College)
Eligibility
- 2024 Graduate of any East Texas high school within 100 miles
- Must have a minimum 3.0 high school GPA
- Students with a 3.50 high school GPA or higher receive direct admission into the A&M-Texarkana Honors College plus an additional $1,000 scholarship.

Eagle to Aggie Scholarship - 2 Year Renewable Scholarship | $3000 Yearly
Eligibility
- Must be accepted by A&M-Texarkana as a Texas A&M University Program for System Admissions List (PSA)
- Must have a minimum 3.25 high school GPA
- Must enroll in 15 hours each semester at TAMUT
- All new students meeting this criteria will qualify
Renewal Requirements
- Must maintain a cumulative 3.0 Undergraduate GPA
- Must enroll in 15 hours each semester at A&M-Texarkana
- Must successfully complete 30 hours per academic year (fall/spring/summer)
- One year scholarship that is renewable if you stay enrolled at A&M-Texarkana
Transfer/Adults Undergraduate – 2 Year Renewable Scholarship
Golden Eagle Partner Transfer Scholarship | $3000 Yearly ($4000 Yearly for Honors College)
Full Time Eligibility
- New Transfer student from an official A&M-Texarkana community college partner within 125 miles
- Must have a minimum 2.75 college GPA
- Must have a minimum 3.25 college GPA to qualify for Honor’s College
- Must enroll in 15 hours each semester at A&M-Texarkana
- All new students meeting this criteria will qualify
Part Time Eligibility
- New Transfer student from an official A&M-Texarkana community college partner within 125 miles
- Must have a minimum 2.75 college GPA
- $1,400 a year awarded to students attempting 9 credit hours per semester.
- $1,000 a year awarded to students attempting 6 credit hours per semester.
- All new students meeting this criteria will qualify
Full Time Renewal Requirements
- Must maintain a cumulative 2.75 undergraduate GPA
- Must maintain 3.25 cumulative undergraduate GPA for Honors College
- Must enroll in 15 hours each semester at A&M-Texarkana

Maroon Eagle Transfer Scholarship | $2000 Yearly ($3000 Yearly for Honors College)
Full Time Eligibility
- New Transfer student from beyond 100 miles
- Must have a minimum 2.75 college GPA
- Must have a minimum 3.25 college GPA to qualify for Honor’s College
- Must enroll in 15 hours each semester at A&M-Texarkana

Part Time Eligibility
- New Transfer student
- Must have a minimum 2.75 college GPA

First Flight Alumni Scholarship | FIRST CLASS FREE | $1500 for 9 semester credit hours (OR) $1,000 for 6 semester credit hours

- Must be a A&M-Texarkana Alumni
- Must be a new Graduate Student in a graduate or doctoral program
- Must have a cumulative 3.0 graduate GPA, or if no graduate hours, 3.0 cumulative undergraduate GPA
- All new students meeting this criteria will qualify
Renewal Requirements
- Must maintain a cumulative 3.0 Graduate GPA
- Must enroll in a minimum of 6 hours each semester at A&M-Texarkana
- Must earn as many hours as attempted each year
First Flight Online Scholarship | FIRST CLASS FREE | $1500 for 9 semester credit hours (OR) $1,000 for 6 semester credit hours
Eligibility
- Must be a new Graduate Student enrolled in an online program
- Must be a new Graduate Student in a graduate or doctoral program
- Must have a cumulative 3.0 graduate GPA, or if no graduate hours, 3.0 cumulative undergraduate GPA
- All new students meeting this criteria will qualify
Renewal Requirements
- Must maintain a cumulative 3.0 Graduate GPA
- Must enroll in a minimum of 6 hours each semester at A&M-Texarkana
- Must earn as many hours as attempted each year
International Scholarships - Undergraduate (4 Year) or Graduate (2 Year)
International Eagle Scholarship (undergraduate or graduate) | $2000 Yearly plus an out of state tuition waiver valued over $16,000 per year
Eligibility
- New International Student
- Undergraduates must have a cumulative 3.0 undergraduate GPA, or 3.0 cumulative high school GPA if no Undergraduate hours
- Graduates must have a cumulative 3.0 graduate GPA, or if no graduate hours, must have cumulative 3.0 undergraduate GPA
- Undergraduates must enroll in 15 undergraduate hours each semester at A&M-Texarkana
- Graduates must enroll in 9 graduate hours each semester at A&M-Texarkana
- All new students meeting this criteria will qualify
- Tuition waiver applies to the first 100 students receiving this scholarship
Renewal Requirements
- Undergraduates and Graduates must maintain a cumulative 3.0 GPA
- Undergraduates must successfully complete 30 undergraduate hours per academic year (fall/spring/summer semesters)
- Graduates must successfully complete 18 graduate hour per academic year (fall/spring/summer semesters)
Other Scholarship Opportunities
Continuing/Returning Students Scholarships
Continuing or returning students are automatically considered for donor scholarships based on completed coursework, and scholarship funds are only offered if funding is available. Students awarded a multi-year renewable scholarship will be responsible for viewing their scholarship renewal criteria and maintaining all requirements for automatic scholarship renewal each year.
Semester Awards:
Occasionally, the Financial Aid Office will offer a scholarship for one semester. Please continue to check the website according to the deadline dates below for the scholarship criteria and application.

Athletic Scholarships
A&M-Texarkana Athletic Scholarships are awarded each year by the Department of Athletics. Each student must meet the minimum requirements set by the scholarship criteria, and also meet the requirements set forth by the NAIA Eligibility Center. The minimum requirements for A&M-Texarkana Athletic Scholarships are listed below.
- Must be accepted into University Admissions
- Must meet NAIA eligibility requirements
- Must meet minimum GPA requirement (2.0 cumulative high school GPA if incoming freshman, and 2.0 cumulative undergraduate GPA for transfer students)
- Must maintain 2.0 cumulative undergraduate GPA for scholarship continuation
- Must meet athletic ability requirements and character evaluation required by Director of Athletics and Head Coach
- Must be an active participant on an intercollegiate athletic team and fulfill the requirements set forth by the Director of Athletics and Head Coach

Competitive Scholarship Form
Since there are limited funds available, the Competitive Scholarship will be awarded on a first come - first serve basis. You should apply as early as possible to have the best chance of receiving this waiver. You must be charged non-resident tuition to qualify for this waiver. If you receive border tuition rates, you do not qualify for this waiver.

Employee Scholarships
A&M-Texarkana full time employees and SSC transition employees are eligible to apply for the Employee Scholarship. Spouses and children of full-time employees are also eligible to apply.
A&M-Texarkana Employee Tuition Waiver Application
Eligibility Criteria
- Full-time employee or SSC transition employee
- Spouse of full-time employee (A copy of the tax return is required)
- Children of full-time employee. Child must be claimed as a dependent on previous year tax return. (A copy of the tax return is required)
- Undergraduates must have a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA
- Graduates must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA on graduate coursework.
- No GPA requirements for first time entering students
NOTE: A copy of previous year tax return will be required for all children
Award
Employees – 75% waiver of tuition and fees
Spouses/Children – 50% waiver of tuition and fees
*Award is renewable for up to 5 years (or 10 semesters), if all requirements are maintained. Student must complete a new Employee Scholarship application each year for renewal.
