Wai Yuen (W. Y.) Chan has joined Texas A&M University – Texarkana (TAMUT) since 2017. He is an associate professor in mathematics. He has taught wide-range of mathematics courses in TAMUT. His research areas are: partial differential equations, mathematical modeling, and approximation theory.
W. Y. was an assistant professor when he joined TAMUT in 2017. He promoted to associate professor with tenure in 2020. Before joining TAMUT, he taught in Montana Technological University, Gonzaga University, Southeast Missouri State University, and University of Science of Oklahoma.

The research areas of Dr. Chan include investigating the bounded and unbounded behaviors (blow-up and quenching) of solutions partial differential equations through analytical and numerical methods, and studying mathematical models
