TEXARKANA, Texas – Texas A&M University-Texarkana signed an articulation agreement with University of Arkansas Rich Mountain on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, on the A&M-Texarkana campus. The agreement simplifies the process and creates pathways by which UA Rich Mountain graduates can attain a bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University-Texarkana.
Under the agreement signed Wednesday, there are direct pathways for students completing their Associate of Arts degree at UA Rich Mountain to transfer into one of four degree programs at A&M-Texarkana:
- Bachelor of Science in Psychology
- Bachelor of Arts in Psychology
- Bachelor of Business Administration (General Business Concentration)
- Bachelor of Science in Multidisciplinary Studies
Now that the initial agreement has been signed, the two institutions can work together to identify and set up additional pathways in other academic fields of study.
"We are proud to announce our new articulation agreement with the University of Arkansas Rich Mountain," said A&M-Texarkana President Dr. Ross Alexander. "This agreement creates direct pathways for UA Rich Mountain graduates to continue their education at A&M-Texarkana and earn their bachelor's degree. Students who transfer into A&M-Texarkana with an associate's degree are among our most successful, as they arrive with the skills and experience needed to thrive in college. We look forward to welcoming UA Rich Mountain students to Texas A&M University-Texarkana.”
“The University of Arkansas Rich Mountain is thrilled to be partnered with A&M-Texarkana in creating a new set of articulated pathways for our students. I cannot think of a better way to start the new academic year than by announcing a partnership that will empower our students seeking their bachelor’s degree,” said UA Rich Mountain Chancellor Dr. Phillip Wilson. “I sincerely appreciate the administration and faculty of TAMUT in seeing the massive value of the UARM transfer student.”
In addition to the articulation agreement, the two institutions also formed an academic partnership. Under the academic partnership all full-time employees of UA Rich Mountain will receive a tuition discount on all undergraduate, graduate, certificate, or micro-credential programs delivered in-person, online, or through a hybrid format. The agreement also waives the standard application fee. Beyond the tuition discount, any eligible employee who is a new student at the university will receive the First Flight Scholarship, which gives the new students their first class free if they are enrolled in at least 6 hours at the undergraduate or graduate level.
Enrollment is currently open for the Fall 2025 semester. For additional information please visit www.tamut.edu.
