A&M-Texarkana Receives Gift from Council on Regional Health Education to Endow Nursing Scholarship
TEXARKANA, Texas – Texas A&M University-Texarkana has announced that it is creating an endowed scholarship in the University’s nursing program with a contribution made by the Council on Regional Health Education. Founded in 1994, the Council on Regional Health Education is a non-profit organization based in Texarkana, AR that promotes and enhances the quality and availability of health education in Southwest Arkansas and Northeast Texas.
“We are profoundly thankful for the contribution that the Council on Regional Health Education has made to our nursing program here at A&M-Texarkana,” said Dr. Ross Alexander, Texas A&M University-Texarkana President. “The endowed scholarship this donation creates will help us to keep talented nursing students right here in Texarkana to meet the demand for high-quality healthcare providers in our region.”
“The Board of Directors of The Council for Regional Health Education is honored to provide an endowed scholarship for the nursing program at A&M-Texarkana,” said Bob Bruggeman, Mayor of Texarkana, TX, who serves as the Council’s Board President. “This contribution will be used to fulfill our mission advancing health education in our community and throughout the region.”
