TEXARKANA, Texas – Texas A&M University-Texarkana is making final preparations for the spring commencement exercises scheduled for Friday, May 8, 2026. The event will be held in two ceremonies and will take place in the gymnasium of the Lois & Cary Patterson Student Center on the A&M-Texarkana Campus. The spring 2026 graduating class will be the largest in University history.

The event will feature greetings from A&M-Texarkana President Dr. Ross Alexander as well as remarks from The Texas A&M University System Chancellor Glenn Hegar, who will bring greetings on behalf of the Texas A&M University System. “We are pleased that Chancellor Hegar will be with us for our spring commencement exercises,” said Dr. Alexander. “This marks the first time a System chancellor has attended an A&M-Texarkana commencement ceremony, and we look forward to him joining us.”

Dr. Jim Worthen, A&M-Texarkana Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs will bring greetings from the academic community, and Mr. Ben Gaddis, Co-Founder of Superstep Capital, will deliver the commencement address. A frequent voice in business and technology media, Gaddis has been featured in Forbes, Wired, The Wall Street Journal, NPR, and Bloomberg TV, and has spoken at Cannes, Sundance, SXSW, and the Fast Company Innovation Festival.

“For those of us who get to work in higher education there is no better day than commencement day,” said Dr. Alexander. “The paths these graduates have taken to arrive here are as varied as the many degrees that will be awarded. We look forward to gathering with their friends, family, professors, and our honored guests to celebrate each one of these remarkable achievements.”

The first ceremony is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. and will be for all undergraduate majors from the College of Arts, Sciences, and Education, the College of Engineering and Computing, and the College of Nursing, Health, and Human Services.

The 11:30 a.m. ceremony will be for the undergraduate majors from the Anita and Truman Arnold College of Business and the School of Professional Education and Community Engagement, as well as all graduate degree recipients from all A&M-Texarkana colleges.
