A&M-Texarkana Announces New Educational Partnership with Texana Bank

TEXARKANA, Texas – Texas A&M University-Texarkana and Texana Bank have formed a new academic partnership that will allow Texana Bank employees to take courses at the University at a discounted rate. The partnership was officially launched with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on May 7, 2026, on the Texas A&M University-Texarkana campus. The partnership is effective immediately and may be used for courses in the Summer and Fall 2026 terms which are enrolling now.

“We are excited to add Texana Bank to our growing list of community partners,” said Texas A&M University-Texarkana President Dr. Ross Alexander. “For more than a hundred years they have served the people of East Texas. Much like our University, they are expanding and growing to meet additional area needs. We look forward to serving their employees as they fulfill their education goals.”

"The remarkable growth and bold vision at Texas A&M University-Texarkana is nothing short of impressive,” said Kevin Huff, Texana Bank President & CEO. “The momentum they’re building is exciting for our entire region. At Texana Bank, we’re proud to partner with the University to provide our employees with an exceptional opportunity to continue their education and advance their careers."

Under the new academic partnership, all full-time employees of Texana Bank will receive a tuition discount on all undergraduate, graduate, certificate, or micro-credential programs delivered in-person, online, or through a hybrid format. The agreement also waives the standard application fee. In addition to the tuition discount, any eligible employee who is a new student at the university will receive the First Flight Scholarship, which gives the new students their first class free if they are enrolled in at least six hours at the undergraduate or graduate level.

Employees wishing to take advantage of the new partnership must meet the admissions standards of the program to which they apply and must remain in good academic standing.
