In an increasingly complex, technologically driven economy, organizations have a greater need for professionals with the ability to manage both human and technological resources. Students who graduate with a master's degree in engineering management are significantly more prepared to meet the challenges ahead. The new engineering management program at A&M-Texarkana will develop leadership skills that will benefit any level of management, from project/lead engineers and directors to plant managers and CEOs.
“We are excited to launch our Master of Science in Engineering Management degree at Texas A&M University-Texarkana,” said University President Dr. Ross Alexander. “This is another academic program developed through direct communication and input from local industry leaders. Our students who have graduated with bachelor’s degrees in engineering have had tremendous success, but there is a real need for more highly trained engineers in leadership positions, and this program will help fill that need.”
“The Engineering Management program reflects our commitment to satisfying workforce needs and developing the next generation of technical and business leaders,” said Dr. Kris Maillacheruvu, Dean of the College of Engineering and Computing at A&M-Texarkana. “This exciting, interdisciplinary program equips students and working professionals with the critical thinking, leadership, and decision-making skills needed to succeed in a rapidly evolving economy. By strengthening community and industry partnerships and creating opportunities to upskill the workforce, the program will help drive innovation, organizational success, and regional economic growth.”
The M.S. in Engineering Management is the fifth engineering degree offered at A&M-Texarkana, with existing bachelor’s degree programs in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, and Civil Engineering.
