Graduate Programs at A&M-Texarkana

Texas A&M University-Texarkana provides many opportunities for learning and growth through several graduate degree programs, and many courses are offered online. 

Because of our unique campus environment, A&M-Texarkana promotes academic self-discovery for students with a variety of degree programs in these colleges, all taught by professors hailed in their respective fields.  And within these programs, opportunities exist for collaborative research, study-abroad programs, and hands-on learning environments. The Master of Science in Accounting (MS) program is offered entirely online and designed to prepare students for a professional career in a wide-variety of accounting related areas in the public, private, and governmental sectors.  Industry accounting experts from our corporate partners helped guide the building of the program to ensure it met and continues to meet the needs of global businesses and governmental agencies.
Business Administration

Minor, Master's

Communication is the transmission of impressions, ideas, and information from one human to another. It may take place directly through live interaction, or indirectly through writing, telecommunications, or computer-mediated technology.  The skill set most in demand by employers in business and industry nationwide, communication – when pursued as a formal discipline of study – prepares practitioners for careers in advertising, consulting, community affairs, management, marketing research, public relations, and social marketing.


The graduate program at A&M-Texarkana is practitioner's degrees.  A&M-Texarkana offers graduate program in Counseling. This program enable students to meet the academic requirements to sit for the licensing exam for the position of Licensed Professional Counselor. 
School Counseling

A&M-Texarkana offers a graduate program in School Counseling. This program enable students to meet the academic requirements to sit for the licensing exam for certification as an all-level School Counselor.

The Master of Science in History is a thirty-six semester credit hour degree that gives students the opportunity to develop a deep understanding and appreciation of historical phenomena, as well as valuable abilities such as analytical reasoning, qualitative and quantitative research experience, and excellent oral and written communication skills.
Instructional Technology

The Instructional Technology program explores the role that established and emerging technologies can play in improving education. Classes focus on the design, development, and implementation of effective instruction for a variety of audiences and settings, including K-12 schools, higher education, and training/professional development in business, industry, and government.
Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

This program is designed for a nurse with a baccalaureate degree in nursing who wish to pursue a career as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).  Graduates will be academically and experientially qualified to seek national board certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
Nursing Administration

Texas A&M University-Texarkana offers a master's degree in nursing administration and is offered entirely online. This program is designed for a nurse with a baccalaureate degree in nursing who wishes to assume a leadership role in Nursing Administration.
Family Nurse Practitioner

This program is designed for a nurse with a baccalaureate degree in nursing who wishes to pursue a career as a Family Nurse Practitioner. The A&M-Texarkana FNP program focuses on rural and population health primary health care needs through high quality advanced practice nursing education.

The Master of Science in Psychology is designed to build and enhance the skills needed to function in professional roles related to Psychology including research and teaching.  The program offers advanced training in psychology, brain function, human development and behavior as well as basic and advanced research methods.
Social Work

The purpose of the Texas A&M University-Texarkana Master of Social Work program is to educate students to address regional problems such as poverty, inequality, and trauma, and to promote community health and wellbeing at the micro, mezzo, and macro levels.
