Texarkana Regional History Day Competition

Texarkana Regional History Day Competition

The Texas A&M University-Texarkana History Department is pleased to host the Texarkana-area Regional History Day Competition. National History Day is a nation-wide event that gives students in grades 6-12 the opportunity to engage directly with history in fun and unique ways. Each year a general academic theme is developed, and students can write papers, create documentaries, exhibits, original performances, and websites exploring an historical topic aligned with that theme.

The Regional History Day competition serves to give local students the chance to compete and learn. Additionally, the top-two winners in each category are invited to participate in the state-wide competition hosted by the Texas State Historical Association. The students that place in the top-two of each category at the state-level competition are invited to participate in the National History Day competition in Maryland.
